Art and my life and have forever been entwined.  Art is my calling; my gift, for which I am grateful.
Through this gift, outstanding mentors, and my education at CSULB where I earned my BA in Art, Velasquez Artistry came to be.

As a life-long lover of animals and nature, they became the natural focus
of my work.  The equine occupies a particular place in my repertoire,
 in my infinite quest to perfect the form.  A similar emphasis can be seen in the
medium of ceramics in which I love to work- though I do like to dabble in all sorts of media.
And as inspiring as I find the natural, psychical world, the spiritual realm fascinates
me just as much, as I believe former draws one towards the latter.
 It is my hope that all of my work points upwards, to something bigger;
to something that connects us all.
